SoBow’s location also means that everything else in the city is close at hand, with convenient access to Deerfoot Trail, Downtown, and the airport. It’s also a short drive or scenic walk to the Calgary Zoo. But SoBow’s pride and joy is its location right next to 50-acre Pearce Estate Park.

With its proud strong roots dating back 140 years, Inglewood has always been associated as the historic center-point of our great city…it is truly where it all began for Calgary.  While proud and respectful of its heritage, until recently Inglewood has never commanded the same level of public perception or interest as other well established communities located within the inner city.  Indeed, in 2013 Inglewood was named one of ‘Calgary’s Best Kept Secret’ by FFWD magazine.  Driving along 9th Ave SE, past East Village and Fort Calgary, onto the Inglewood Bridge over the Elbow River – it’s getting harder to keep this secret as one can’t help but see the early positive signs of regeneration, investment and infrastructure. Most notably, the new pedestrian bridge linking East Village to Inglewood, and the tastefully designed Atlantic Arts Block with its dynamic mix of tenants and retailers book-ending the West, are adding to the already well-established hub of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes that front onto 9th Ave SE. Several development sites are appearing with their hoarding and signs in place; finally Inglewood is coming into its own time and shaping a new and exciting chapter in its history.

In East Inglewood, signs of progress are also visible, with the second phase of SoBow well underway and possessions set for later this year (Fall 2014).  This new multi-family residential building comprising of 120 condominiums, garden townhomes and two-storey lofts will make its own mark on regeneration in the area and eventually increase Inglewood’s existing population by up to 30%.  This master planned community, set on a 14.5 acre parcel adjacent to Pearce Estate Park and the Bow River, is just close enough to easily get to where you need to go downtown and throughout the city, but also just far enough away on the urban edge to enjoy the peace of the park and the river on your doorstep.

Zoom out to see how close you really are to everything.  Welcome to SoBow: On the Park, By the River, in Inglewood.
